Tai Chi Chuan 

Tai Chi simply means grand ultimate. When the word chuan is added, it denotes the martial art of tai chi.

Initially practiced slowly in order to integrate the body and mind, many people all over the world participate in this art for health reasons, but the abilities of its adepts are without equal in real self defense situations.

Aside from these reasons to study the art, its abilities to bring the mind and body into stillness in movement, and movement in stillness will help you to gain a new appreciation of your internal environment.

Qi Gong

Qi gong, pronounce chee gong, simply means qi exercise.

It consists of various movements, either done relaxed or with muscular tension, while you are focusing on the breath. This is sometimes known as Chinese yoga.

It has been shown in studies to be highly effective in treating many chronic disease states, improving balance and coordination, and in weight reduction. There are many styles of Qi Gong and it has been studied traditionally for health, martial arts, and meditation.

At Dharma Way Dojo, Qi Gong is taught adjunctively with the martial arts and as a primary class.

This art is wonderful for the elderly or those recovering from debilitating diseases, but is not limited to those groups.
